'Hires'

volunteers

This is interesting --During Jay Brickell's meeting with Steve Halter and the powers that be-Brickell was quoted as saying that they hire their own security forces for the events at Bricks Off-Road mud hole.

On Brickell's web-site he is asking for volunteers-he is quoted as saying they could not operate without the volunteers. So apparently his security force isn't even paid--I guess when we send all of the extra county deputies and highway patrol down there to help him out - in essence he will still be operating without having to pay anyone, he will just have higher quality, "volunteers" and our tax payers will be paying for it.

Boosting trouble

Halter's idea of an economic boost to our community is troubling. The only economic boost I can see is the emergency room. I guess he is counting the emergency room visits for drug overdoses, assaults, alcohol intoxication, broken bones, rapes and sexual assaults, four-wheeler accidents and near drownings. I understand the emergency room had a steady stream from Bricks and couldn't keep up --much less care for normal ER patients.

Sad neighbors

I, for one, do not want one penny of my tax money to go for road improvement or law enforcement at Brick's Hell Hole. Talk to some neighbors down there who have to stay up all night guarding their property to keep the scum bums from parking on their private property--riding their four-wheelers and trucks in their yards--using their front yards for a bathroom and dumping their trash and beer cans. CLOSE IT DOWN!!!!

Life saving stop

Thank goodness for the Missouri State Highway Patrol that stopped the 18-year-old that was driving with almost three times over the legal limit of intoxication leaving Bricks. We can only guess how many lives that one stop saved . . . Halter wants us to help facilitate that mud hole down there. We know one girl was killed last weekend and one permanently paralyzed, we don't even know how many have died down there in the past. It's no wonder they don't want the press at their meetings!!!!

Trashing river

Apparently Halter is not concerned about the clear streams and rivers in our region. I guess he doesn't mind the human feces, urine, trash, beer cans and oil from the four-wheelers that are illegally running in the streams. This trash eventually ends up in the Current River --do you want to swim and float with all this human waste??? Not to mention all the mud that Jay Brickell was draining into the creek. We can only hope that the DNR and the Missouri Department of Conservation has enough control to SHUT BRICKELL DOWN!!!

'You guys

at it again'

When did Brickell change his tune and decided he wanted to work with law enforcement? He greeted the Highway Patrol with "You guys are at it again!"

Indicating that they were harassing his good customers when they tried to do their job last weekend. Now he wants their help with traffice and law enforcement. Too Little Too Late!!! He is just trying to cover his own a**.

Losing game

How many times has New Wave lost a Cardinal ball game? I'm up to 15 and I missed part of the game. What a mess! Thank you.
