Greed kills

Yes, I'd like to comment on the headline of the DAR on July 6th--"NORDYNE Not to Close." I'm thinking, Man, they're gonna keep those 500 good-paying American jobs in the United States and then I read the article. And, h****, it's only gonna be a delivery system where they just keep the products for a little while that are made in Mexico. So there's gonna be like 14 jobs there instead of 500.

Greed is gonna kill this old country! Pray for America! Thank you.

Free

contribution

The knowledgeable "Bricks" information aired July 6th on KFVS-TV is above remarkable. Extra officers, traffic control, extra precautions all to attract visitors to greater Poplar Bluff--$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $

What about permanent residents who reside on these county roads and their inconveniences putting up with all these visitors?

Plus wasn't it only recently announced via DAR "Funeral Service Escorts, for burials, would no longer be feasible because of utilizing law enforcement officers described as too costly?"

Really don't see any difference only that maybe it's "Brick" or will this be a free contribution to the patrol the area for their events? $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $

Not to forget the lady whose life has changed forever.

TRC or Mo.

Career Center

Mr. Silverberg's article in the Friday, June 26, 2015 edition of the DAR concerning laid-off NORDYNE employees enrolled and being retrained at TRC appears rather skewed giving all the accolades to the local college. He is either misinformed or uninformed as his article would lead one to believe that the TRA Program is provided and administered by the local college when in fact it originates and is administered by the local MO Career Center. It is my understanding that an unemployed individual would make application at the Career Center and he or she's eligibility would be determined and if approved could enroll at TRC and their tuition would be paid from the TRA Program. Also, I have been told TRC presently only provides them with regular college courses not one that have been specifically developed by TRC's Workforce Development which the article implies. Maybe Mr. Silverberg should visit the MO Career Center and discover what types of programs they offer to unemployed individuals and consider writing an article about what benefits are available and being provided by the State of Missouri.
