PBHS yearbooks available to 1920

Thursday, July 9, 2015

To the Editor:

The recent front page article by Pat Pratt about the donation of a 1928 yearbook (The Bluff) to the R-1 School District was interesting and well written.

Something that is not widely known, however, is that the most complete collection of Poplar Bluff High School yearbooks can be found at the Poplar Bluff Museum. We have at least one copy of all yearbooks dating back to 1920. Of the 1928 yearbook mentioned in the article we have six copies. In addition to these printed works we also have framed pictures of Poplar Bluff High School graduating classes from 1901 (nine seniors) to 1917 (34 seniors).

The Poplar Bluff Museum at 1010 N. Main is a valuable resource for many things relating to the history of Poplar Bluff. Whether it be our Historical Society Room,, Veterans' Room, Sports Hall of Fame Room, Scout Room, Education Room, and others there is something to interest almost anyone.

The Museum is open on Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. However, we will always try to accommodate people who would like to bring a group or an out-of-town guest. Call the Museum at 785-2220 and leave your request as a message. Someone will get back with you.
