Local market needs sellers

I was at the Farmers' Market on Saturday the first time this season. I was very disappointed to see so few people there. I was also thinking that last year this time there was a lot of newspaper coverage and I'm hoping that someone there will take the initiative and put out some coverage on this Farmers' Market so that more sellers will show up and more of us who could use that service will show up, too. Thank you.

Yeah, I consider myself a good ole country boy. I spent the first 12 years in Arkansas and then they dug the roots up and brought me up here to Poplar Bluff and I've been here ever since. But, I'm a Democrat and I tell you what I've chopped cotton, pulled bolls, drove a tractor, I've done just about everything in my life and I consider myself real good at it, you know, and I've been exceptionally good. Like I say I'm a Democrat, but I think I'll change over to being a Republican and as of right now and broadcast in the Daily American Republic, I'm running for President of the United States. Just send all that there money you wanna send me to the DAR and DAR you can donate it to charity. Thank you.

Get cat shooter

I'm talking about what happened to that cat on CR 468. It's bad enough that a cat was shot for no reason, but what about a child? Or an adult? Somebody get that person who did this on 468. I'm gonna ask other people to call in and do this, too. Thank you.

Is all healthcare plan legal?

Speak Out? I know with the Affordable Care Act that a lot of changes were made, but you know there are some businesses in Poplar Bluff that are offering what they are touting as being a healthcare plan to their employees that don't cover any kind of hospitalization? Is that even legal? Does anyone out there know? Thanks.

Reading, raises

I was glancing through Friday's paper on the R-1 increase. I think it's rather funny that they asked for a large tax increase so they can improve the schools and now everybody gets a raise. We knew it was gonna happen and now it has. Thank you.
