Do survey on

bond rate

Speak Out item about the city being ripped off got me to wondering. A survey about what people think happened regarding this issue could really be helpful. What the people think is the true story about this bond rate of eight percent that we're told is costing the city around $50,000 a month. What's the bond for? Is the city paying six percent too much interest?

I think that if it's well done a survey could show how well folks understand the facts and beyond the survey, if those are the facts, don't we taxpayers need to know who approved this and why? And, can it be corrected? If so, how and at what cost?

I've only lived in Poplar Bluff less than a year, but so far the newspaper accounts of the city government's actions have left me feeling pretty confused. I'd sure welcome some articles to help me get clearer about now seems to be pretty murky.

Electric rate

is not fair

It's strange that everybody has to pay extra for their electric rates except the industrial customers. They're the ones making all the money and the customers are paying for it. That's not fair!
