Cable better

under city

I realize that a lot of things unusual have happened in the City of Poplar Bluff in the last few months, but I'm beginning to wonder what the city was thinking when they gave up City Cable. We now have no cable service. We are paying a bit more cost for nothing. They have no local phone and when you call you have to push 15 buttons to get a very rude customer service person who doesn't even know where Poplar Bluff, Mo. is.

After 15 minutes of trying to explain to her the problems that she didn't seem to understand now I have to wait eight days for a repair. It's there some relief? Can't the city take it back? Do you think they will deduct the days of no service - eight whole days at least and a weekend, too -- from my next bill? Probably not!

Unsafe drivers

on M Highway

This message is for everyone that travels M Hwy. out toward Stringtown. I have lived and traveled M Hwy. for over 40 years and the traffic has increased at least tripled in the last 10 years I've noticed, but I'm sure the yellow line in the center of the road are still there to separate the traffic. So if you would put your cell phones up, pull your heads out of your tail end and try to stay on your side of the road. It's much safer for everyone. M Hwy. isn't the straightest road there is in Butler County, but it can be safer if everyone will drive. Slow down a little bit and drive a little safer. So remember to put the d*** cell phone up.
