Letter to the Editor

Do what is right

Monday, May 4, 2015

Dear Editor:

I have written several letters about various topics, but many of the problems facing Poplar Bluff, and indeed our Nation, can be summed up in looking at Jack Rushin's attitude.

In spite of the fact that anyone with half a brain knows using your elective position to place relatives in such positions as he did is legally wrong, there is an even greater and higher law that says not to do such a thing. It is called ETHICS, and it can be summed up thusly: Do the right thing, even if you think no one is looking.

If there is anything I have learned in my 71 years it is this. You reap what you sow and there is ALWAYS someone watching!

My advice to Jack Rushin is this. Admit your mistake and do your part to correct it. Don't wait for a ruling by a court to make you do what you should do in the first place. Be a man and do what is right instead of what you can get by with.
