Well folks, it's Monday night and I just finished watching the Channel 3 television news. You know I guess crooked bureaucrats and politicians are the same all over. I just got through spending quite a bit of air time talking about the crooked council over in Mt. Vernon doing all they can to evade the Sunshine Law. Doing public business by telephone and not making it public and everything. It sure sounds a lot like Poplar Bluff and I thought Illinois was a whole other state and so, you know, maybe those folks are related to the folks over here.

I don't know but the state's attorney general in Illinois is fixin' to investigate those folks in Mt. Vernon and I don't know if he can operate across the state lines or not, but sure would be neat. Bye now.

They won't pay so I have to

I just read this evening's paper. Let me see if I get this right. The city is not going to pay Municipal Utiltities the $4.5 million loan, Becker doesn't have to pay back his $200,000, but my electric rate is going to be raised to $9.21 a month to pay back what those two won't so that the city utilities will have some extra money. I don't have an additional $9.21 a month for that pay raise.
