Where's justice?

I was once again saddened when I saw a man who confessed to strangling a woman only get 20 years for murder. I guess that means he'll get out in five years. I've seen this happen many times in Poplar Bluff. As long as you confess you get off with nothing.

Imagine if you were this girl's mother or dad or sister or if this was your mother. It's as if you're saying she didn't really matter.

Where's the justice in Poplar Bluff?

Blocking

driveways

Thank you. I have a complaint. I live on a county road and the road grader has been by and he blocked my driveway. One day I had company and they couldn't get across the ridge that was in front of my driveway. And also they come by and pile the snow up on my property--right near my fence, but they can't touch my driveway and I don't think that's fair to me. I pay my taxes too and I like to be fair to people. I don't know why he couldn't give my driveway a sniff, you know. But anyway he doesn't and I just don't think it's fair for him to put the snow on my property. Thank you very much.

Still snowbound

It could only happen in Poplar Bluff. It is eight o'clock on Friday evening. It started snowing on Sunday afternoon. We have not seen a snow plowing our neighborhood all week. Tonight the snow plow came through our neighborhood and guess what? Drove through the neighborhood with the blade up and made no attempt to pile the snow, so guess what? Our street is still snowbound. It could only happen in Poplar Bluff!

Just say 'no'

I see that at the next council meeting that our city administrator is requesting two more toys for his front office. When is it going to stop? They don't have money to buy a lot of things but they continue to buy him the toys that he requests. Does the council have courage enough to turn something down that the man requests? I doubt it!
