Worry about kids not buses

This is for the person who called in about the dirty school buses. The bus drivers wash those with a bucket and a hose. Any time you want to come down when it's freezing outside; be my guest! We need all the help we can get. Until you do that, don't worry about what the school buses look like. Worry about the people who pass the red passing signs without even thinking twice. Or, the ones who drive past the kids while they're standing on the side of the road. That's what you should be worried about. Not the dirt on the bus. Thank you.

The Becker

connection

I see Peter Tinsley is making the legal decisions for the city council. I was under the impression that that's why we had a city lawyer to make those decisions and see if it should be carried forward. Maybe the connection with Mr. Becker on the good ol' boy syndrome is strong enough to keep it out of legal hands.

The city's

new magician

Speak Out, I just read today's paper, Wednesday, Feb. 4th, and while Mr. Dille's comments are interesting, the point is that while there's nothing wrong with Poplar Bluff, there's a lot wrong with the current city council. And their little guy they hired from God knows where. Do a cost of accounting between what it costs to assist a funeral procession versus numerous accidents from a funeral procession. See what is cheaper: a nice straightforward escort that takes 30 minutes or an hour versus multiple hours writing up accident reports and then turning around and having officers be involved in litigation as a result of accidents because there wasn't a person of authority escorting that funeral or parade. I think we're looking at more. Like a magician: misdirection. Get them to look in one direction while you do your dirty work in the other. That's what we've got going on now. Watch the hands of the magician.

Thanks for

Dille response

Thank you to the editor for standing up to Mr. James S. Dille letter to the editor regarding Speak Out. Mr. Dille would not have written that letter to the editor if he were still in business and he had the chance of offending one of his customers and the fear of losing the almighty dollar. Thank you to the editor for standing up to him.
