Is city getting money's worth?

Dear Speak Out....In the interest of prudent government spending I decided to do some research with regard to salaries public officials make. I was astounded when I discovered our current city manager makes more than the governor. As a matter of fact he makes more annually than our governor and our senator combined. Another way to look at it he makes more than our state representative, state senator, and Lt. governor combined. On a local level you could do the math and find that he makes more than all three Butler County commissioners and the coroner combined. According to 2010 census information comparatively speaking he makes nearly as much money each year as six average Poplar Bluff families would make each annually. I sure hope the city council is getting that much out of him! That's a heck of a lot of money for one guy!

Where's the

Mule pride?

Our superintendant and school board members must walk around with blinders on. Am I the only one who notices filthy school buses running up and down the highways. What ever happened to Mule Pride?

Surely with all the increased tax revenue to the school district they can afford a little soap and water.
