Take heart

Poplar Bluff

Citizens of Poplar Bluff, good news! Mr. Kaplan will be leaving soon. Just as soon as he has lined his pockets and bankrupted our city he will move on to the next one. So take heart. PB, and be happy.

Message to

Twin Rivers

A message to the Twin Rivers School Board: I am disappointed in all of you! We elected you to do the best interest for our children. The very idea that you even considered cutting the boundaries to carry about 50 children to Qulin especially when there is another option--the modular building! It would be wrong to up set those children so the board members can satisfy their ego. When they would have to hire more teachers anyway they go. I am ashamed of the past educators on the board. I know their years as teachers they have experience how disruptive this is to a child. As a past educator myself I know what I'm talking about. I've seen this happen. So just once do the right thing for the child not your ego. I think this time the parents need to stand up for what's best for their children. I voted for four of you because I thought you were the very best choice to see to the children's needs. Apparently, I and a lot of other people, was very wrong! So, board members, think hard on this. The key word is here, "Fix. Fix," not tear up. Thank you.

Was DAR in

on cable sale?

Yeah, the DAR must have been in on the sale of the Internet service or else they would be out there questioning them people about why we have such crummy service.

And the moral

of the story is..

Yes, I have a story to tell. The story goes, there was this little, old lady she was sittin' there at the table and she had two boys and a girl. They were married and grown with children and they didn't come around as much as they used to. Well, this one day, this little, old lady she put this box under the table where they used to sit and they would touch and it would be real heavy and would wonder what was in there, but she said you can't open it up until I die. She was almost 90. Well, she died and they opened it up and to their surprise there was glass in there and a bunch of rocks with a letter. And the old woman said, "Sorry, here is what I do for you. All I wanted was your love and attention. I wanted you to come over and visit with me more and thank you very much." So, the moral of the story is that it doesn't matter if you are single and young or old, we all need love and attention and some one to talked to. Thank you very much and I hope God blesses everybody.

A good way

to save money

All that stupid manager is thinking about is taking money from the people of Poplar Bluff. If he's so interested in saving money, why don't he cut his salary down a little bit and he'd save a lot of money.

Beware the

CitiGroup bill

Hello, Speak Out. I just wondered if anybody had noticed the CitiGroup legislation regarding the banks being able to go back to their old free-swinging ways and taxpayers picking up the bill for it? CitiGroup actually drafted the legislation. It's in the Omnibus Spending Bill. Good luck!

It seems

strange to me

I was just wondering, is Mr. Kaplan getting a kickback from all of these different companies and lawyers that he's calling into analyze and insure our city? It just seems strange to me since he's been here no one in Poplar Bluff seems to have sense enough to do anything, so he has to call in all of these outside people. I was just wondering about a kickback.
