Van Buren beats E.C.
ELLSINORE -- The Van Buren Lady Bulldogs grabbed an 18-point lead by halftime and took home a 56-35 win over their county rivals the East Carter Lady Redbirds Monday night.
Van Buren (3-6) had seven girls make the score sheet with Summer Shockley leading the way with 17 points scored. Amber O'Dell added 10 points while Logan Hayworth had eight.
East Carter (0-7) got three 3s and 17 points by Megan Mullins. Andrea Kearbey chipped in with eight points.
Greenville 46, South Iron 37 The Lady Bears had a miserable first quarter with just one field goal against the Lady Panthers, who had just a 3-pointer of their own.
Amanda McDaniel made the lone shot in the first quarter for Greenvile (7-4).
Kenzy Smith sunk three 3-pointers and had a game-high 20 points for Greenville. Samantha Rainwater had two 3-pointers and totaled 15 points.
Puxico 47, Delta 45 Freshman Kaytlynn Haynes led the Lady Indians (5-2) with 15 points in the first round of the Delta Tournament. Gabby Clark got 12 points and Faith Oliver added 10 for Puxico, which led by 10 heading into the fourth quarter.
