PUXICO, Mo.-- Claud Wesley Walk, 88 of McGee, Mo. died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, in the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Walk was born Sept. 11, 1926 in McGee. His Alonzo and Maymie Walk preceded him in death.

He was a lifetime farmer. He enjoyed hunting with family and friends throughout his lifetime.

On May 10, 1947 he married Cora "Lawatta" Davis in Corning, Ark. She preceded him in death.

He served in the Army during World War II, and he was a guard at a prisoner of war camp in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 29 1946, and awarded

the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Philippines Independence Medal.

He is survived by four children, Wayne Walk and wife, Mary, of McGee, Shelby Turner and husband, Gary, of Jackson, Ronnie Walk and wife, Judy, of McGee, and Jeff Walk and wife, Robin, of Poplar Bluff; five sisters, Maxine Davis, Christine Berrong, Pauline Kibler, Eula Berrong and Carol Hamlin; seven grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Imogene; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was at 11 a.m. until the service time Jan. 1, at the Morgan-Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico. The funeral followed at 1 p.m. Jan. 1, in the funeral home chapel. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in McGee with full military honors.
