Our city

mismanager

This letter concerns the new "City MISMANAGER," and his crew of bandits. Buying insurance from LONDON??? That is asinine! Solution? GET RID OF THEM! Send both Mr. Excessively OVERPAID Big Shot and his TEXAS "WRITER" back where they came from, Fire the MAYOR, and her co-conspirators, and get some people that care about what happens in this town! I've been here longer than the age of those two put together, and I have never encountered anything like this! If this is an example of where Poplar Bluff is going, we are in BIG trouble! Must be true what I've heard all my life: The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. The poor are "poorer" because of the ridiculous waste of the taxpayer's money. Again I say" GET RID OF THEM!!!!!

Protect corn

not citizens

Funny thing!!! According to the city of Poplar Bluff Farmers Market rules, everything sold has to have been raised or produced within a 50 mile radius of Poplar Bluff. However, the city has no problem sending our tax dollars out of the city to St. Louis for an attorney (even though we have about 60 here in town), hiring a grant writer from Texas, Insurance Brokers from St. Louis/London, England, and nor Financial Planners from New York . . .

So much for protecting our local folk (except for tomatoes, watermelon & corn!!).

Asking for

money again?

I'm calling about this here article I read in the paper about the Doniphan Nutrition Center asking for money, again. And, I was just wonderin' what was goin' on because I understand that they've gotten several substantial grants in the past and they get money from the federal government, the State of Missouri, donations and fund-raisers and Meals on Wheels provides the food for the people in Ripley County.

And my other concern is who are these board of directors and are they doing the best for citizens of Ripley County? I've not been able to figure that out.

And also I would like to know where does all this money go and why are they still runnin' with the same administration if they are losin' money. The Towers never asks for any money or to donate money to 'em and they have a larger food base. Anyway, it's just food for thought, but I would like to know what is goin' on myself before I pull my wallet out of my pocket. Thank you.

Time ticking

on Ebola crisis

Well, America, it's happened. We now have our first confirmed Ebola case in the general public of the United States. Who do we blame for bringing this virus to America? Our president? The Center for Disease Control? Our politicians? Who do we blame? And, here's another question: what is this one case turns into a pandemic as it has over there in North Africa? How are we going to stop it? Our hospitals are ill-suited for it. So, even though we have a better health care than North Africa, it will have the potential of killing thousands to even millions if it really takes hold.

So, America, who do we thank for this act being brought to the American shore? And, frankly, what are YOU going to do to let YOUR politicians, YOUR representatives, and yes, even YOUR president know of your disdain. I know I'm upset as well as everyone should be. Google Ebola and see how you, and possibly your children and your elderly, will die if they contract it.

So, America, who do we thank for bringing this scourge to the American shores? The time is ticking and you haven't got long to think on this.
