Blame it all on climate change

About how long do you think it's going to take for those purported scientists that are claiming climate changes are happening all across the globe...just how long do you think it's going to take for them to blame the hurricane that's going to hit Hawaii on climate change? I'll give you about five minutes and then you can go see the headlines already. Two hurricanes gonna hit Hawaii. The most sure sign of climate change we have seen in years. What are these people doing? They're in he middle of an ocean. It's summer time and yes, it's hurricane time. But, then again, they'll blame anything on climate change. Literally. Anything from toe fungus to bad teeth. But then again, that's science for you. I'm just getting tired of it all.

Really, reliable tax entity

Hello, Speak Out. I was just reading the article today about the Poplar Bluff Public Library. I was so amazed. I had no idea that we had a responsible tax utilization entity. People who were actually responsible with tax money. People who plan ahead. A rainy day fund? Who would have thought it? What a novel idea. I mean that's got to be something new. Maybe the folks on the school board over at Neelyville, maybe they'll read that article and maybe they can call the folks over at the library for some tips on fiscal responsibility and budgeting for a rainy day instead of spending every dime as soon as they get it and then planning on going to the tax payer and sucking more out of them. Thank you.

Conservative

appointments

For the first time ever, I found some agreement with Rep. Jason Smith Capitol Report in the Aug. 5th DAR. But, then about three-fourths of the way through, Rep. Smith got back into his usual form. He correctly wrote that the Supreme Court found that President Obama overstepped his power when appointed officials to the National Labor Relations Board while the Senate was in recess. Rep. Smith made recess appointments sound like high crimes. So, I checked the recess appointments from past presidents and learned that President Reagan handed down 232 recess appointments. G.J.W. Bush: 171. G.H.W. Bush handed down 78 in one term. And, I would guess that those past presidents are Rep. Smith's idols. So, how many has President Obama handed down so far? Thirty-two. It would seem like, so far, President Obama has been very conservative with his recess appointments.

Get with times

To the person who wants them to regulate Facebook and doesn't think it's good and thinks they should be able to enter contests without having a Facebook account, remember, the Pony Express was put out of business by the mechanized trains. The US Mail is being put out of business by the electronic mail. You need to get with the times, Granny, or get a new soapbox. More people are using social media. That's part of what I pay my electric bill for. If you don't like it, you can either get on the train or you can get left behind, but nobody wants to hear you whine that you can't enter contests because you don't have a Facebook. That was your choice not to have it. If you don't understand it, that's fine, but it makes you sound ignorant when you complain about something you truly do not understand.
