SALES TAX???

Why did our great politicians in Jefferson City decide to try pushing this 3/4 of one percent sales tax upon the people of Missouri? It's all because they are for large business and forgetting about the people that voted to put them there. Of course the contractors and large businesses are supporting and pushing to have this tax approved, but, who are the ones that will have to pay for it?

While driving into town to get some groceries, I see these people walking to or from the store carrying a bag that seemed to be fairly heavy. This I see on the highways and in town also. Then I got to thinking, are these the people that are going to have to pay the sales tax for me to drive on the highways? There are millions of people like this in addition to millions of the elderly, that like these people, barely ever leave the city limits of the town that they are living in.

This sales tax will have very little effect on my family's living but I still want to see our roads and bridges updated, but not at the expense of these people. Why didn't these politicians put this tax in the form of a ROAD TAX, a tax where those using the roads pay for keeping the roads and bridges updated.

I personally will not vote for this tax but if it was in the form of a road tax, yes, I would support it because I do use the roads. I hope that the people of Missouri get out and vote, not necessarily the way that I vote but get out and vote their own conscience.
