Against gas

ordinance

In regards to the proposed ordinance of pre-paid gas that is just another one of our liberties being taken away by government. Granted I am sure stations have "drive offs" but isn't that the responsibility of the owners to control their inventory, not the public. While I am sure police officers spend some time investigating, preparing paperwork etc. . . . Isn't that one of their jobs to investigate and apprehend people who break the law?

If some stations are not equipped to video or have reliable help to watch the pump . . . that is their problem as individual business owners.

If everyone is required to use credit cards at the pump, some will lost sales on the inside, as some people for snacks. What about the clerks on the inside? There is usually 2 people behind the counter to take gas payments where I shop. One won't be needed if gas is paid outside, (yes, I have a credit card). What about people that do not have a credit card? Trust me there are some. I am opposed to such an ordinance. Just another one of our freedoms taken away . . . . think about it!!!

I hope the council is more concerned with the general public than a few station owners. If they want credit cards only at their stations, fine that is their business but do not penalize everyone to accommodate a few.

ARE WE JUST GOING TO SIT BY AND LET THIS HAPPEN?????

Event center

isn't needed

Three Rivers College should not build an events center. It would be expensive to build, maintain and staff. Poplar Bluff already has the coliseum building for any big event. The goal of Three Rivers College should be to provide a good academic education at a low cost to serve students from this area. Increasing costs needlessly is foolish.
