Salute to

the band

Great parade! Great parade, but two faults. I think the kids did an excellent job on playing music and stuff, but one more poor passed out even before she got to make the trip. And some others got kinda sick. I think it's too long to have them march that far, play in the band on a hot day like July 4th. I think the band ought to start to save these young kids after it crossed the viaduct and down into town, make the circle around town, and when it gets back to the viaduct those kids ought to end. It's just too hot out there and too much of a trip carrying those instruments and playing. But they all did a great job! I salute you kids. I'm proud of you! I'm proud that you say your from Poplar Bluff --my home town! You're doing a great job! And boy I say what those little ole girls and boys on the trumpets, wasn't they great?! But let's cut the mileage down on 'em. It's just too far from McDonald's all the way downtown and around and back over the viaduct. Thank you. God bless and God bless that little ole band! Thank you.

Nuns say

'thank you'

This is to a customer at Steak 'n' Shake about 12:30 p.m. July 4th. Thank you and God bless for paying for nuns' purchase when we were there. Thank you.

Common

sense needed

I just read in Sunday's Speak Out that there is someone within our community that would like to see college degrees for those who running for local seats on council and such things as that. I'd like to ask that person this -- how well is that working in our Congress right now? With doctors, lawyers and other associated thieves lobbyists--well educated and of course from all of the different think tanks --look at the job they're doing for our nation right now. So, again, I'll ask you -- are we going to allow ourselves to be run by elitists --you heard me right --elitists! Or as our Republic demands -- the common man! From our school board to our city council and to our state house, I would sooner trust a nurse, a plumber, a mechanic --somebody that doesn't even have a degree but a very deep and abiding sense of common sense to run our government in the way it's being run right now. Remember we're a republic not a socialist democracy.
