Traffic control, maintenance

Since most of us find it an inconvience [sic] to detour via Oak Grove Road on CR 537 would you not think whoever approved the detour would also authorize mowing both sides of the already narrow CR 537?? There's more traffic on the detour than I expected but en route to the careers center I was passed by a vehicle in what appeared to be flying speed. Maybe traffic control and roadside maintenace [sic] both needs alerted!!!!!

Degrees

needed

I'd like to congratulate the present council for insisting that the candidates for the new city manager had a college degree. Matter of fact I would extend it where anyone who runs for public office should have a college degree. I am certainly aware there are some great leaders who never went to college. Bill Gates only finished two years. But, the number of those people that do succeed without education is very small. My assertion that they should have a college degree is statistically valid. Thank you.

Return

medicine

This is to my supposed to be friend: please return my blood sugar medicine and some of life-support medicine. You don't have to bring it to me personally. You're here everyday. You have to be. Please drop it off on my front porch or in my house when you are here. And if you are any kind of a friend at all you will do this for me because I don't get it again until 8th of next month and I've got to have a blood sugar medicine and my heart medicine, so please if you are any kind of friend at all please drop it off where I can find it. You can keep everything else that you stole in the bag --no questions asked. Bye.

Enforce laws

Here's an idea for our new and progressive city council: regarding the use of fireworks within the city limits of Poplar Bluff. How's about this for an idea, city council? Require identification to purchase fireworks within the city limits. If you are a citizen within the city limits of Poplar Bluff you cannot purchase them because supposedly you cannot use them until the 4th, so c'mon, Poplar Bluff, let's do some real progressive work on our ordinance book and get some peace and quiet for the decent people of our community that obey the law. Maybe a fine of say $500 or $750 will wake these parents up that are allowing their kids to rattle the nerves of everybody within 300 feet of their location. Myself, yes. I'm a cranky old man, but I'm a patriot. I'm a veteran. And I believe in fireworks on the 4th and the 4th only! So, c'mon, Poplar Bluff, enforce your ordinances or take it off the books completely.
