Taxed to

death in PB

Thank the good Lord the business leaders here in Poplar Bluff don't get to vote on the gasoline tax. We're already taxed to death, people.

Need country

on city cable

To all of you on City Cable that like country music join with me and see why we cannot get RFD on 79 channels instead of paying more to get Channel 165 to get Nashville country music on Saturday night.

County needs

new people

Yes. I would like to comment on the Butler County road crews. The dumbest thing has happened by 160 Highway towards Doniphan. At the intersection of 160 there, they, of course, paved that in the middle there on 160 and whatever that is that goes to Harviell. I could agree with that! But, they came up around and paved the south end of 480 and it was already paved. It had a one or two bad spots in it but not bad, but they repaved that section and right across the road from it on the north end of 480 it is gravel. Why didn't the county, why didn't they pave what was gravel instead of repaving what was already paved? There's a cemetery down there and when they have funerals you can't see the cars for the dust. So, my opinion is that we need to get rid of all the Butler County crew, Strenfel and all the others, and just clean house up there and get some new people in like the city did. I can see where a person who stays in an office so long they get to thinkin' that they own the job and they don't have to please the public, but nothing is being done about our gravel roads. No paving is being done and we passed a, I think it was a one cent road tax, and nothing was done. So all the roads are dusty and graveled and with big holes in them and it comes a big rain and it washes all the gravel off into the ditches and I just think it's terrible that this happens. So, folks, let's clean house at the Butler County Court House and get us some new people in there and see if we can't get something done about the gravel roads. Thanks for listening. I appreciate it.

Preachin and

more preachin

I'd like to comment to Speak Out about the television. All you see on cable television and all you can see of it is preachin' and more preachin' and cookin' and soap operas. If I want to hear preachin' I'll walk right down here to the corner --there's a nice little church. I go church to hear preachin'. I'd like to see somethin' else on the weekends that's all you can see. I turned it on just while ago -- preachin' on every channel. I pay dearly for television and I'd like to have something else on it besides preachin' all the time.

Food stamps

for felons

It is crazy when Missouri doles out food stamps for drug felons. How about the drug felons pick another state to live in? How about drug felons suffer the consequences of their poor decision making? Missouri Medicaid will not buy anything but one hearing aid for a hearing impaired person who is trying to get work who is trying to better themself. Now they can only have one hearing aid, but now we're going to subsidize people who are continually making bad choices. This is crazy! I say you let the governor what you're thinking about it. I cannot believe we can't just kick these people out of the state! Why can't they suffer for bad behavior?
