Are workers

special people?

[website] Why is it that the workers at the city cleanup can have anything they want that is thrown away but this man just ask for a little bike for his little girl and they said no you cant have it and made him put it back in the trash? What a waste that people can't have things they need instead of just throwing away what the workers don't want? Are the workers special people? I don't think so they are just people who are down there working so they can have whatever they want to get for free. They should have a big give away and let people have what they want instead of throwing it away. There are nice things there that poor people could use but lets not give them anything if they cant pay for it. They don't need it right.That is the reason people go out and steal because even if you go to the good will they are just as high price as the store and the stuff is gave to them for free. It is just a shame that people cant have that stuff that is being thrown away except for the so called workers. Wonder what you have to do to be a worker?

Shame on you, school board

[website] I read the news on the school board meeting on April 17, 2014. I was shocked to read the part about the worker that was trying to get vacation time and the school wasn't allowing the person to take vacation. I was appalled by this. If a person works and builds time then I feel that they should be allowed to take their vacation days how and when they choose. I pray that the ones on the board don't treat their own employees that way. I know there are several business owner that sit on the board and all I can say to Poplar Bluff R-I school District is shame on you!

Fix 'em up or tear 'em down!

I'm calling about the condemned properties all over town and on Grand Avenue. Why don't the city make them move them properties and get rid of them houses that are on them properties. They are an eyesore to the neighborhood and make the value of the house next door and across a street go down. They need to get rid of these condemned properties and they need to enforce it. I don't know if they're bigwigs or not that own the properties but if they do they need to be treated just as the rest of us are and get ride of the condemned properties. They are no better than any body else to have houses lookin' like crap in the middle of the town. It makes our town look like crud and I don't think that they should be allowed to have the condemned properties. If they're not going to fix 'em up then tear 'em down! Thank you.
