Lend a hand, help keep park clean

Dear Editor:

Recently there was a Speak Out article citing trash as an issue at Kiwanis Bacon Park. Let me assure the writer that the Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club is very anxious to have a clean park. We have a great relationship with Poplar Bluff Schools and between their personnel and our volunteers, we do what we can to maintain and beautify the park. However, we have messy guests that have access to our beautiful park 24/7.

We do have trash barrels there in the park so I invite you to help us fill them whenever you are there. We'd greatly appreciate the help. Our maintenance people will take it from there. I invite everybody who enjoys the park to do the same. This will enhance the experience for everyone.

We at Kiwanis Club are very proud of our beautiful park and we do our best to keep it that way. However, it is very large and difficult to find all the trash.

With everyone taking pride in Kiwanis Bacon Park, we can all enjoy it. It's better to do something about a problem than just complain about it. Thank you.
