Lawson prays Bagby stays involved in community's growth

To the editor:

The city of Poplar Bluff has made substantial and significant progress in recent years, which should ensure that growth and progress will continue for years ahead.

Regretfully, the city will be without the vital leadership and knowledge which Doug Bagby possesses.

As a city employee, I worked closely with Doug for 13 years and for the past 10 years we have worked together on countless efforts to improve the future of our community. I know Doug to be trustworthy, knowledgeable and certainly loyal to the needs of Poplar Bluff and our surrounding communities.

I certainly hope that Doug will remain available to assist the present and future of our city as many of our citizens continue to do.

As one who has remained involved with efforts to help the future growth and economy of Poplar Bluff and our neighbors, my hope and prayer is that the solid groundwork which has been laid in the past several years for our city will continue to move in a positive direction.

Finally, I hope and pray that the new City Council continues the efforts which are imperative for the progress of Poplar Bluff.

Respectfully,

Tom Lawson
