To the editor:

POPLAR BLUFF HAS IT ALL!

What wonderfully diverse opportunities are available to all of us here in Poplar Bluff!

We enjoy Godspell, a musical performed every bit as excellent as on Broadway! The Moscow Ballet dancing Sleeping Beauty (sponsored by the TRC Patrons of the Arts) at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center was "out of this world"! It was a sight to behold to see our local little girls attending the event dressed in tights and tutus, meeting the ballerinas during intermission, and waiting in line for the bathrooms endeavoring to stand their toes and pirouettes!

This next weekend we are able to enjoy the run/walk/or crawl (ha!) of the Kiwanis celebration of the opening of the Wolf Creek Bike/Run Trail. This beautiful trail was created in a joint effort by our City Parks & Recreation, along with the proud staff of the U.S. Forest Service/Mark Twain District who were happy to explain to us their completed work, along with the future plans. And, to top it all, offered to everyone were free drinks and hot dogs cheerfully grilled by Dr. Mike Price and his fellow Kiwanians. Then, to complete a perfect day for Easter weekend, we were provided an opportunity to Sing-A-Long with the Messiah performed by our local talented church and college choirs with a superb chamber orchestra.

This past weekend the public was invited to the opening reception Friday evening for the Missouri Hands-On invitational at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum. Now this Thursday we have the Taste of the Town to benefit our local Boys & Girls Club, and then on Saturday we have the Annual Cancer Center Walk/Run and also the Annual Airport Pancake Breakfast with plane rides. In the evening at 5 p.m. we can enjoy the Ground Breaking for the historic steps at the 1910 Iron Mountain Depot with a fund-raising dinner at 6:30 inside the restored waiting room.

Yes!! There is a lot to do in Poplar Bluff! There is much much more than I mentioned, but these were all I could attend!

Come out of this cold winter's hibernation and enjoy your town!

Thank You, Poplar Bluff, for offering us SO VERY MUCH!
