Thanks, DAR,

for prayer

Dear DAR, I want to say thank you for today's prayer in the paper. It is encouraging to know there is still faith and belief in God in the U. S. I'd like to challenge all the school teachers, parents and students who read the paper. I heard two brothers in my Sunday school class last Sunday, one in 5th grade and one in 2nd grade, say they get so tired of hearing their classmates daily cuss. Let's help get morals and right and good things back into our children, and schools. It's time for us to take a right stand before it's too late. It's everyone's responsibility so let's all be responsible. I remember when I was in school there were dress codes and moral ethics. I do remember in the 50s when the teacher had to read to us that we evolved from an ape. Even I knew that was wrong and ludacrous, at that time I'd only been to church a couple of times being about 9 or 10 years old. But, since parents and teachers did not speak up, look where our schools are today. It's time to wake up America. God created us, gave his own for us, are we thankful and reverent,I ask you? "A concerned fellow woman" and citizen of our once great believing in God blessed nation. Thank you. I truly hope you can print this.

It's not just

at O'Neal

It's not just O'Neal school that has a problem with parents using handicapped spots as their drop-off/pick-up point instead of getting in line with all the rest of the parents. Every school in Poplar Bluff goes through this. Do you know why? Because we have a group of parents who believe they are better than everybody else. Their time is more valuable and they are entitled. Not all of them drive the fanciest vehicles. Some of them drive real hootsies, but they yet think they are a little bit better than everybody else and everybody else has to play by the rules but they don't. And guess what? They're teaching their children the same lesson. Their children don't listen to 'em but certainly are watching what they do, then they grow up to be "entitled" thinking adults. They are entitled not to follow rules just like everybody else. I wish the Poplar Bluff School District would put a camera pointed toward everyone of their handicapped areas and give these parents a little taste of what it feels like to be a rule breaker in a regular society and let them all get tickets. I wish the Poplar Bluff Police Department would oversee it and give these parents tickets for all parking and using the handicapped spots. Some of them are so arrogant they will park across every handicapped spot, not park in, but across 'em so no handicapped person can possible use those spaces and they will sit there and sit there. Some will be there for five minutes, so we shouldn't care because they are only there for five minutes. Remember that, parents, when you have to go bail your kids ought of jail because they broke the rules. What a great lesson you teaching them. They're entitled to do as they please.

That plane

ain't in ocean

I'm just an old country boy, but I been watchin' this here plane deal on TV that took off from Malaysia on the way to Beijing and disappeared. Remember, the Japanese how they attacked us under the radar. That plane ain't in an ocean. That plane's on land and parked somewhere and these guys they've highjacked that plane. You watch what I'm tellin' ya. It'll turn up. If it was in the ocean they'd be suitcases, rubbish and everything else around somewhere. Oil slicks or something. And, there are not! That tells me one thing. That plane flew under the radar and it went somewhere that we don't know about and it's landed and they disguised it. They've got it all covered up and I don't know why unless they're wantin' to make that plane or what. Watch what I'm tellin' ya! That plane landed on land and somebody's got it covered up. Thank you. God bless America. America didn't raise no dummies. We can figure that stuff out for ourselves.
