Knockout

victims

I would like your newspaper to write an article on the "Knockout Game" since we've had a couple people who were victims of that. There's actually a number one bestseller now about that game. I don't know the title of it right off the bat, but can you all think about that? The Knockout Game. Thank you.

Misleading

comment

To the individual who wants teachers to stop medicating school children: Teachers are not responsible for medications given to children. At most, they can comment to parents regarding problem behavior, but the actual medicating has to be a decision reached between parents and physicians. Of those children who do require medication, it is not because they like to laugh and talk. Behavior that requires medication is far more serious than that. Some children cannot focus without medication. That means they cannot do their work. That means they do not learn. It's that simple. This person's comment to Speak Out is very misleading unless you have had first-hand experience with hyperactive children who do need medication. I am a teacher and I do not advocate medication except in extreme cases, but those extreme cases do exist. And the problem goes way beyond normal child behavior of laughing and talking and having fun. This is an example of holding teachers responsible for societal problems that they in no way are causing. It is unfair, very unfair.

Wood dangerous, marijuana OK

Well, well, well. Can you believe our wonderful government? I believe in turning around. Time to take out wood stoves. Passing the use of marijuana. I don't believe wood smoke could kill a dog and marijuana almost killed them from eating cookies with marijuana in them. The EPA and all government officials need to read and study their Bible. I don't think they'll find anywhere it tells the gays to marry. God help us. And my prayer is God help us. God bless U.S.A.
