A bumpy

ride ahead

Well, it looks like our President is finally gonna do what he considers the right thing for millions of Americans across the nation by raising the minimum wage. But in another political move that many see as nothing more than buying the votes again with your money, there are some unintended consequences that might actually benefit America as a whole. When you get your income raised at $10.10 an hour suddenly millions will no long qualify for welfare, food stamps, Medicaid and other social welfare programs. So while they are touting 900,000 possibly more will get raised out of poverty another unintended consequence is those nearly half a million forced into poverty when they lose their jobs. So, minimum wage is a double-edged sword. One needs to think long and hard on suddenly raising this to be politically expedient. Mind you, it's those unintended consequences that always tend to bite us in the backside and few are going to understand that until all of sudden they are told you no longer get your food stamps, welfare and the other hand-outs you've been waiting in line for. So, good luck, America cause the next few months are gonna be a bumpy ride.

How about a

paved road

Who cares about an opinion of what's worse the snow or the mud well I will explain it this way the melting snow is why we have the mud, but we would put our minds and tax dollars to work I am sure if we could pave some of these gravel roads. I pass one half million dollars of road graders setting in someone's yard everyday, not doing anyone any good, while I am just ruining my vehicles. These roads are so muddy if you meet someone you have nowhere to go except to move over and get stuck, as did my wife just Monday. It took 30 plus years for some fine citizens of Poplar Bluff to extend the four lanes of Highway 67, so how many years will it take for us to see a paved gravel road in Butler County.
