More intramural

programs

are needed

Poplar Bluff is lacking a place for youth 7th grade and up to play basketball similar to an intramural program. My grandson played travel basketball thru 6th grade here and the team played one weekend at a basketball club in the St. Louis area. We need a program like that here for youth who want to practice during the off season or just play for fun. Park Dept. basketball serves youth thru 4th grade while 5th-6th grade is at school. We need a basketball club where youth 7th grade and up can play organized ball in a safe environment and is also affordable.

Schools are

swapping sites

To the person who said in the Jan. 10 Speak-Out that the School Board should rethink their decision to relocated the Junior and Senior High to the "Oak Grove" district. If you've been paying attention to the extensive coverage that the DAR has provided re: the long-range plan, you would know that the high school and the 5th & 5th Grade Center are swapping, and the rest of the schools are staying put.

Titling right

to work bill

That so called right to work bill should be Titled right to work for less!

Fix lights

Yes, I just wanted to say I've tried to contact the owners of a parking lot by Big Lots where the government offices and the clothing consignment stores are. It is so dark in the afternoon or evening when it's starting to get dark. They don't have any lights going. They need to get this fixed. It's too dangerous to be out in this dark. Thank you.

Face real problems

The Missouri Legislature has got to be the stupidest collection of people you can put together anywhere in the state. Instead of facing the real critical problems facing the state, they've got to waste their time and money with unconstitutional legislation which are clearly in violation of the Constitution which they say they support. It's time to vote out every one of them and send them home and get people that care about the citizens of the state instead of just themselves and their rich self interests.

Is driving time

real issue?

Yes, the councilor who's trying to get the half-way house in Poplar Bluff. The only opposition she can get to the one in Neelyville is about the 13 mile difference in mileage. Doesn't she drive from Doniphan? There are many people that drive over 13 miles to work--average of 30 miles--and she drives 45. Thank you.
