Good Samaritan

My sister and I went out to visit our mother's and pop's grave at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The cemetery was just awful with weeds and dried grass and cut-up flowers by the mower. It was everywhere. Both headstones were covered so much they you couldn't hardly find them. As we was trying to clean our loved ones' place a very nice young man came over and offered to use his weedeater on our parents' headstone. This was after he had already worked an eight hour shift with the Butler County road maintenance. He was cleaning his dad's grave and others in another section even though it was around 100 degrees. We just wanted this good Samaritan to get recognized for his good heart and his caring about other people's loved ones' resting place. God bless this wonderful young man. Thank you.

Here's speak out

You know I'm an old man, but when I was younger there was a little jingle that went somethin' like this: "Oh, where, oh, where, has my little dog gone? Oh, where, oh, where can he be?" Well, in this case, it's "Oh, where, oh, where, has the Speak Out gone? Oh, where, oh, where can the Speak out be?" Hey, I've watched for the past two weeks and I've not seen no Speak Out in the paper. I sure miss 'em. What's wrong? Somebody's not callin' to Speak Out? Well, I'll try to help you out and call 'em in 'cause I call 'em in all the time and have lots of them printed. Apparently ain't nobody callin' in to Speak Out 'cause you aren't printin' it. Like the front page when you dropped the obituaries off the front page, somebody asked for them back, you put 'em back. Let's put the Speak Out in there two or three times a week. I really enjoy 'em and I'll bet you other people do, too. So don't make me have to sing that "Oh, where, oh, where . . ." again. Put 'em back in. Thank you. Have a fine day. God bless you all. Bye.

Disrespecting

'no-call list'

If you are on the so-called "No call list" how do you keep people from bothering you with ridiculous calls. I get five to six a day. Thank you.

Reader misses speak out

I've been reading the DAR for 50 years! 50 years! It's been a good newspaper and this is the first of the week and I've really enjoyed it. I love Speak Out and I'm going to buy the newspaper through Friday and if Speak Out ain't back in the paper, I'll never buy it again. Thank you. God bless America. Bye.
