Give a little for dining pleasure

I'm calling about the person that called in and the topic was "Eliminating Beautification." First of all, it's not PP Highway, it's Kanell Boulevard--named after a Poplar Bluff Medal of Honor recipient and that corner was basically empty. It mentioned in the article beautification, the flowers and the trees and all those nice things the person mentions, but that was a rather barren corner and to see new business and jobs in the Poplar Bluff area we have to give and take a little. It's better to have Popeye's Chicken go in there right in front of Burger King next to Kentucky Fried Chicken and across the road from Wendy's than to cut trees down and a wooded lot and put a new business in. This just my two cents on the matter and so you've got a choice when you come to that intersection. You can to Burger King, or you will have a choice to go to Popeye's Chicken, or Kentucky Fried Chicken or you can go a little further up and Subway's up there and Wendy's is on your right and there's several places to eat. Ah . . . give and take. You've got to give a little to get a little. Have a good day.

Hollywood's

tiring message

Has anyone paid any attention to a recent advertisement from Hollywood about one of their soon-to-be-released movies called, "We're the Millers"? You know the one where they're making fun about a guy who's shipping drugs into America from Mexico. Are we getting tired of the message that Hollywood is sending that they could make such light of the death and destruction that's being dispensed on our streets by drug dealers that they now can make light of it like, oh! it's nothing, we can have a good laugh over this. America, what has happened to common decency? What has happened where the bottom line of Hollywood is more than social responsibility? Just when did we all sell our souls to the devil? Something to think about the next time you spend your hard earned money at the box office.
