Good things about the ex-Carter sheriff

To the Editor:

Last summer while on a drive (67 North) we struck something on the roadway that caused a flat tire immediately. We managed to cross over and turn back toward town near the overpass. Within a few minutes three young men stopped to help us. Rather than call for a wrecker they decided to put on the spare tire. They refused a monetary gift, stating that one of them was a Carter County sheriff. That was Tommy Adams. Their help was greatly appreciated. Later (as a donation) I sent money to Carter County Sheriff's Dept. The check was never cashed.

Don't know where Adams went wrong (everyone one makes mistakes) but there is "good" in most people and it hurts to read of him being sentenced to 10 years.

Remember, "O.J." who murdered two people and got no sentence for America's worst crime?

Something is out of balance with the judicial system in this country.
