No to pipeline

I wanted to say that Canada just wants to run that gas pipeline through the United States so they can ship their oil to other countries and I don't think it would help out country any to do that so, therefore, I am against it. Thank you.

Where's justice?

Yes, I was reading the article in today's paper about the young man who got shot--and it's not funny. The police, they are not doing their job. They laugh about it. Where is justice? I mean what if it were your child who got shot behind the ear with a gun -- a pellet gun? How would you feel about that? You'd feel the same way that this young man or young lady felt. It's not funny. I agree with the young man--justice should be done about it. Nothing being done about it. He said his neighbor had a pellet gun, but there's nothing done about it. It's not your son, but it's somebody else's. Please print this. Thank you.

Sound alarms

We are calling to ask if someone would give the sheriff of Carter County an alarm clock because he needs to wake up and realize that taxpayers' dollars are missing right across the street in the courthouse right under his nose. Thank you and have a good day.

Earlier is better

In Oct. 15 paper there was a picture of Ed DeGaris proclamation September National Recovery Month. Why not proclaim the certain month at the beginning of the month instead of after it's all over with?

Hwy T needs guardrails

Hi. I just wanted to speak out about the new road on T Highway at Lake Wappapello. MoDOT did a really good job -- it's wide and it looks neat and clean. The only concern I have is this winter when it's snow and icy there's a 30 foot drop-off on each side of the road. I'm afraid of accidents because of the drop-off. Is there a way we could have guardrails or something to keep us from falling off the road from the ice? Thank you so much.

Taxing bullets?

Oh, gosh! Oct. 18. Thursday. I read in the paper about Chicago, Ill. or the Illinois state wanting to put a tax on bullets? Five cents a bullet or $25 a gun to curb gang shootings and things like that. What kind of idiots are these people? Don't they realize the gangs are not buying their bullets at the local store. The only one you are going to hurt on that is the law-abiding upstanding citizen that go in and buy guns and ammo. You're not going to hurt those people any. They're not gonna give a crap a bit about the extra five centers a bullet. They're gonna laugh at you. Anyway, what kind of stupid people would think of something like that?
