To the Editor:

The Poplar Bluff Mules Booster Club would like to extend their appreciation to those involved in making the 4th annual Mule Skinner Golf Tournament and auction fundraiser a great success. Thank you to the Poplar Bluff area businesses who generously donated to the effort. The proceeds from this fundraiser make it possible for the Booster Club to fund requests from all the sports teams at Poplar Bluff High School.

Thirty-seven teams filled Westwood Hills Country Club for a 1 p.m., shotgun start on Aug. 10. The greens were lined with hole sponsorship signs from over 50 area businesses and individuals. The weatherman even chipped in with a break from the heat.

Lunch was provided by Hardee's and Chartwells Food Service. PBHS coaches were present to cook lunch and provide assistance during the event. The evening meal was catered by Las Margaritas/Maya's restaurants and Bill Turner did a fantastic job as our auctioneer.

Thank you again, to everyone who volunteered at the event, made a donation or purchased an item. The Booster Club would also like to applaud the corporate sponsors: First Midwest Bank, Las Margaritas/Maya's and Luecke Distributing for always supporting our efforts and PBHS student athletes.

The Poplar Bluff Mules Booster Club is always open to new members. If you are interested in becoming part of a great tradition at PBHS, please visit our website www.pbmules.com for membership information or contact Jason Smothers at 573-776-4360.

We appreciate this generous community and all that step up when asked.

Gratefully,

Poplar Bluff
