Economic meltdown: Don't blame unions

Thursday, August 2, 2012

To the Editor:

In DAR's July 22, 2012, edition of Speak Out, Sign of the Times writer blames unions for the economic meltdown. Halliburton's workers in Iraq and Afghanistan are not union workers and they are getting high dollar. Are they paying income tax? I doubt it.

Greed by Wall Street and financial institutions destroyed our economic security by reckless investments, over a trillion dollars in tax cuts to the wealthiest people of our country and global corporations. Too much money spent on the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.
