Sign of the times

Many may see in that one community a little further to our east that recently had to drop all of their city employees down to minimum wage as kind of a telling, sign of the times, shall we say. And, it may be coming soon to a community near you. All thanks to the wonders of unionism. Yeah, you heard me right-unions. Those little things that after a while will become nothing more than strong arm units, protectionists-not caring whether they are actually going to keep their jobs, try to even work with a community to make sure budgets are met and the like, but we now can see the end result. I think it was actually smart of this city to do what they did. You see, truthfully, they don't have to pay wages in excess of federal minimum wage. In fact, no one does. Maybe it's time we roll back the clock a little bit and maybe, just maybe, the unions will become so afraid of their strong arm positioning that they might shake in their boots enough that their membership will say, Oops! Don't want that happening to me. What kind of concessions can I make to make sure my community doesn't go into this? You see where I'm going with this, folks? Yep. It's a sign of the times alright-bad economy and such. But, it's something that is truly long overdue. If I could get my hands to the back of that mayor, I wouldn't just pat it on the back. I would pound it on the back.

Fence in dogs

We're calling again about dogs that are let out to do their business in the neighbor's yard in the 2000 block of N. 14th Street. I will say there are only two of them. I haven't seen the police dog or the others for a while now. There's two that they let out. They have the cars wait for them to get out of the way. Someday they won't be so lucky. Please keep the dogs in a fence. Shame on you. They are really a pain in the butt. Thank you.
