Schrieber hits grand slam

I'd like to comment on the opinion that Don Schrieber put in the paper on Wednesday. I agree with it completely. I'm so glad someone put that in there. If you were a baseball player, I'd say you hit a grand slam, but in regular talk-you hit the nail on the head.

I commend Mr. Schrieber on his article in Wednesday, May 30th newspaper concerning the candidate for sheriff Ed Strenfel. If Mr. Strenfel is not qualified in law enforcement and if elected does this mean the taxpayers will have to foot the bill for Mr. Strenfel to take law enforcement training. Something, I think, he should have already done prior to running for sheriff. And, again, thanks to Mr. Schrieber for bringing several articles to the forefront about the candidate. Thank you.

Revisit policy

on cell phones

This is a call in reference to the article in the DAR about cell phones in the R-1 Poplar Bluff School District. If they are not allowed to have them in the 5th & 6th Grade Center or Junior High or Senior High, then they shouldn't be allowed to have them at the Adult Student Learning Center either. And, I have gotten several Facebook pictures where students are taking pictures in that class and posting them while they are supposed to be doing their work. These are the students that are already in trouble. They only have to be there three hours a day. And what's even worse is in one of the pictures the students posted while students are supposed to be doing their work, Mr. Henson sitting one computer away. So, you might want to revisit the cell phone policy at the Adult Student Learning Center. Thank you.
