Last weekend for arts alliance event
PIEDMONT, Mo. -- "CAAW" (The Cultural Arts Alliance, Wayne Ozark Region, Inc.) will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday: and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memorial Day.
St. Francis Winery of Park Hills will be featured on Friday, Saturday and Monday (Memorial Day). People's Choice voting ends on Friday, with ribbons for first, second and third acknowledging Best of Show awards posted on Saturday.
Saturday activities will include live music by CAAW member - musician (and poet) Mike Henson from 4 to 6 p.m. using his Hawaiian lapsteel with an accompanying vocalist to serenade show-goers with "a hodgepodge" of blues and folk. Henson entered the Rescue Art entry with a captivating "Romeo and Juliet" cigarbox guitar that is not only charming, but also works!
Sunday activities will include lively and entertaining afternoon with auctioneer Col. Haven Willis. Beginning at 1:30 p.m. Haven will auction Rescue Art Entries, donated fine artworks and fine art crafts, area wines with other assorted allocated items. CAAW coffee and cookies will be served.
Memorial Day, numerous area merchant awards for winning entrants will be divvied up between Fine Artists and Rescue Art winners, starting at 4 p.m. Calculated popular vote ballots determine all the winners, including area dignitaries, fellow artists and people's choice, with awards posted.
Art Show greeter will welcome and escort guests through the door for a fulfilling visual, cultural experience for all ages. For those that haven't had the opportunity to view this fine collection of creative expressions by area artists, this is the last chance to do so this Memorial Day weekend.
All Aboard at 1019 N. Main St. in Piedmont, Mo. (former Lantern Restaurant), for the last weekend. Also on exhibit are Don't Meth with US poster contest winners, a Piedmont Rotary Club sponsored contest involving area school children.
