Compliment

& complaint

I would like to compliment, yet complain, about this year's Merchants' Showcase. I'd like to compliment the vendors who brought things you could actually purchase and the ice cream place --that was really good. But I'd like to complain that there was too many things --the food there was for the vendors, not to be sold to the general public. And that really is a complaint because don't bring hot dogs out in front of kids if it's only for the vendors. I thought that was just a little bit tacky. I would like to see more restaurants in town have a booth there that would actually sell some of their food. Some of these places that seem to be struggling doesn't seem to care enough to be at the Merchants' Showcase. I think they're missing a prime opportunity. I didn't think it was quite a organized as in years past and definitely, I thought, it was borderline rude to sell hot dogs to vendors only.

We'll be Mules

not Royals

Hi, this is in regards to the Speak Out "Ignorance in Twin Rivers." Some people didn't vote for the bond issue because we don't believe that the new middle school is needed. And, the state's not gonna tell us that we HAVE to build it. If it comes right down to it, maybe our kids will be shipped to Poplar Bluff and we'll all be Mules. Whoo!
