Barricade is

needed at river

I read with great sadness the story about the two young men who recently drowned in Black River . . . passengers in a car driven by a young woman who said the three had been drinking all night. Two young men are dead, and at least three families are devastated for a lifetime.

The city can prevent this from happening at that location again by simply erecting a barrier at the end of Saxon St. It doesn't have to be expensive. Perhaps a few dump truck loads of dirt, anything to prevent a replay of that tragic accident.

Who will be next if we don't do something? Will it be a teenager texting, someone on their cell phone, an elderly person? It doesn't have to be someone intoxicated. It could be your son or daughter next, or maybe you.

We ask the city to assure this doesn't occur again by erecting a barricade at the accident scene.

We pray the city will do the right thing.
