Thanks for supporting Merchants Showcase

To the Editor:

The Three Rivers College chapter of Collegiate DECA recently held the 33rd Annual Merchants Showcase at the Bess Activity Center. On behalf of the organization and entire college we would like to take this opportunity to thank Poplar Bluff and the surrounding communities for supporting this event year after year. Because of the support you give, our students are given the chance to use the theories they have been learning in class and apply them to a "real life" situation.

Without the support from the merchants who purchase booth space, the visitors who attend the show, and business owners who graciously donate food for our hospitality room and other items needed to coordinate the showcase our show could not continue. We would like to recognize the many businesses who provided us with the supplies we needed in order for the showcase to be a success. We extend a special thank you to Robert's Electric for providing electricity to the booths free of charge. Thank you to Allied Waste for the use of a trash Dumpster. Thank you to Kissinger and Kirkman Investment Centre for donating the hotel accommodations for our grand prize drawing and thank you to the following businesses for other donations: Wal-Mart, Southeast Hospital, Home Depot, Meeks, Office Depot, Myatt's Drapery, Pizza Hut, Family Video, Briggs and Stratton, Skate City, Creative Mommies Boutique, Grand Avenue Baptist Church, Mike and Zac's BBQ, and Three Rivers Student Government Association. Thank you to Three Rivers College for the use of the Bess Activity Center and to the IT department for supplying our merchants with wireless Internet.

Our hospitality room was sponsored this year by Poplar Bluff Medical Partners. We would also like to thank the many businesses and restaurants who graciously donated food and drinks for our hospitality room Colton's, Donut House, Ideal Bread, AMC Theaters, Steak 'n Shake, Burger King, Wendy's, County Mart, North Side Convenience Store, Rowland Stollen, Pepsi, Taco Bell, and Break Time .

The Merchants Showcase was a huge success again this year and our Business Management students gained some valuable experience in coordinating the show. We are so appreciative of Poplar Bluff and the surrounding communities that continually work with us and support such important events at Three Rivers College! Thank you to everyone who participated and attended this year's Merchants Showcase. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
