Winning award was humbling

To the Editor:

I want to first thank Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce President Steve Halter for instituting the "Administrative Professional of the Year" award, of which I humbly received this year. He and his staff went above and beyond to make the event a truly special day.

I next want to thank my supervisor, Felicity Brady, executive director of Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, for nominating me for this award. The wonderful words of appreciation she wrote in her nomination letter made me so proud to be a part of her staff, and having 10 co-workers attend with me, shows the great camaraderie we share in the workplace. And, to have my family there was certainly an added bonus.

From listening to the nomination letters of the other finalists, all deserved this award, and each employer that nominated their administrative professional, it is very obvious that his/her staff are fortunate to have them.

For me just to be nominated was such an honor!
