Promises

don't last

I'd like to make a statement in regards to our government and all these people that (and I really hope this does get printed), but all these people want to get ours a United States of America to vote for them in office. They're not doin' a whole lot of walkin' the walk. They're doin' a lot of talking and making all these promises and then once they get in office, you know, we find out they're lying to us. And, they claim they can't do nothin' about gas gouging. That right there would be a first. How about takin' a step for that? President Obama--he's got power. He just doesn't execute it for lowering the gas prices. This is ridiculous. I don't vote for that reason right there.

Decency in America?

What has happened with decency in America? Case in point: the new spring line-up at ABC -- one of their top shows --Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23. Gee, catchy little opening phrase there, but when you look at the show--what is America being sold? And yet, again, the subtlety of that little opening tag in their advertising for the show, you know, the thing called the title. Well, have we had to stoop so low that that choice of language is going to be our new norm? And mind you, ABC is the same people that own Disney and we take our children there by the droves. Makes me wonder about our choices in American any more. How low have we sunk? Are we at the edge of the cesspool or are we standing in the middle of it just revelling in ourselves. Make me wonder. The choice is yours in viewing this type of palp, but then again America doesn't care about America any more. Now, do we?

Concert drew

a crowd

Yes. Recently I attended a gospel singing in Malden, Mo. About two weeks ago. And, they brought in really big gospel singer, Lee Williams, and Malden made money that night. And, I mean, we are more than capable of having or hosting something like that at the Black River Coliseum. And, I just really think it's sad that we don't have anything like that. I mean the place was packed. I mean there were 600 seats and they were filled and there were people standing and people were still coming in. And, I just really think we, Poplar Bluff, the Black River Coliseum should be able to put something on like that. I mean it would help Poplar Bluff, so I just wanted to say that little bitty Malden, Mo. could host somethin' at that magnitude we should be able to do the same. And I wanted for you to print that. I'd really appreciate that. Thank you.\
