Voter: talking

to board OK

"Reading Coaches' Pay Still Debated," in Wednesday, April 11 paper, Mr. Thornton tells that concerns are supposed routed through the president's office at the college instead of directly talking to board members. What are these people looking for? If I, as a person who voted for them, can't talk to them about concerns of the college, why are they there? Why should everything have to go through the president? What kind of policy is that?

Captured on Walmart video

Here it is Thursday, 3:30 a.m., and we have a bunch of idle teens hanging around Walmart thinking it's funny letting the air out of the tires of handicapped people's vehicles. Now, while they may have thought it was their friend's car or something like that, I find it a little disturbing one and disgusting. That's called vandalism, gentleman, and yet thank goodness you were seen by security at Walmart, which means your faces are on their tape. You're identifiable. And, I saw your faces. So, gentleman, the next time I'm out doing late shopping at Walmart and I see you, I'll call the police first and ask questions later. Think about it before the next time you put your hands on somebody's car that isn't their car.

Why don't city workers wear seat belts?

I want to talk about the seat belt law. I use my seat belt every day when I'm driving, but you see all these city workers in their trucks --they don't wear no seat belts at all and especially housing--Poplar Bluff Housing. Their drivers don't wear seat belts. Now, something's wrong with this picture. I think the police station should control and stopping these people who don't wear seat belts like the city or Poplar Bluff Housing. I hope they do something about this cause if I have to wear 'em, they have to wear 'em. If I don't wear 'em, I get stopped. So, please put this in the paper to let the people know the city and county is breaking the law. Thank you. Have a good day.

Third time

is the charm

It's funny. This is about the third time I've called to put something into Speak Out. It's amazing. I'm sitting here reading about church buses for country folks, football, the pound--that sort of thing. Whenever somebody wants somethin' in there really worth putting in there--something about gas gouging or tailgating or something like that--like, you know, very serious. It just gets blown off. It's amazing how you people can put what you want to put in the paper rather than somethin' worth putting in the paper. All these promises. You guys are like the government--you're funny.

Walk the walk

I'd like to make a statement in regards to our government and all these people that (and I really hope this does get printed), but all these people want to get ours a United States of America to vote for them in office. They're not doin' a whole lot of walkin' the walk. They're doin' a lot of talking and making all these promises and then once they get in office, you know, we find out they're lying to us. And, they claim they can't do nothin' about gas gouging. That right there would be a first. How about takin' a step for that? President Obama--he's got power. He just doesn't execute it for lowering the gas prices. This is ridiculous. I don't vote for that reason right there.
