Sheehy Trailer

Park promises

Speakout: I was glad to see Mr. Sappington's letter in the paper regarding Sheehy Mobile Park. He is totally right. We have no idea what to do, what options we have, etc.

I've had chances to rent, sell, move or whatever. But I am staying here because we were told the new trailer park would be much nicer than this one.

I'm waiting for them to move us there. Sheehy Park Resident.

Thanks Tracy

for a good job

Tracy Edington--I'm sorry you lost the election for councilman. You have served faithfully and graciously and deserve a big thank you.

Church bus for

country folks

Yes. I am calling because I think it is a shame that people who live out in the country cannot get a church bus to come and pick them up when they're handicapped. We've tried churches around us, but they do not want to drive their buses and we've called buses in Poplar Bluff to come and pick up this woman and no one will drive the bus up to Fisk to pick this woman up. I just believe that's an unchristian thing to do when there's somebody who wants to go to church but has no way of going due to the fact they won't use their buses. Thank you for your time.

Taxpayer has

had it with city

Landlords, land owners and renters: we need ordinances to clean up these houses that need to be torn down. Dead trees cut down and land owner and renters fined for not keeping up property. Each year our street gets worse. No help from city. Don't know the right people. Council passes ordinances, but not enforced. Cats and animals running around three or four blocks from owners. Council is like Congress--talk, but less taxes raised--forget it. Certain residents can't get anything done; others get by with breaking the law. We want downtown to look good, but certain residents go without. It's the council wantin' the downtown to look good. Newer buildings, nicer vehicles, all kinds of extras, but those left on fixed incomes cain't even have decent streets to live on. People renting needs to be checked out before. I've reached my breaking point with this clicky town. Who you are is what you get. I don't have to sign my name. You know who I am--fed-up taxpayer.

Football town?

Stop dreaming

Hi, I would like to voice my opinion on whether it is track season or football season? I just went to go check on my child at the high school where all the coaches were and I was notified that two days a week they have football and then they come over. Once again there's the very state high school rules maybe our high school need to be looking at, and quit having the pipe dream that we're a football town.

Appreciate

police there

I wanted to thank the policemen for being on Shelby Rd. and Oak Grove Rd. Wednesday afternoon when the school buses and all of the parents are picking up their children. They run the stop lights and if you don't stop you're in trouble. I do appreciate the police being on hand.

Road closing

is a problem

The paper said Wednesday they were going to close Oak Grove Rd. the 13th of May. What are people going to do that have no way out of where they live other than Oak Grove Road? What if we need an ambulance? We're at Sheehy Court and ours is dead end streets. I think we need to have someone tell us which way we will be able to get out or get people in if we need them in an emergency. Thank you.
