33rd reunion of Wappapello School

Friday, March 9, 2012

To the Editor,

The 33rd Reunion of the Wappapello School this year will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the "Old Wappapello School House," which is currently the Wappapello Civic Center. The time will be from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The meat will be provided so please bring a covered dish and/or dessert. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. Please notify all relatives and friends!!!

I am almost 86 years of age now and for over the past 25 years I have diligently tried to follow in the foosteps of "Cass" Perkins, Nola Ryan, Leta Knodell, Eugene Bennett, and Glenda (Mitchell) McKnight in organizing and helping with the Wappapello School Reunion.

In the past five years the attendance has been down as the "Old Families are Gone. "

My family of six has attended at least eight years of school there and now it's only me left that attends the reunions. I am hoping for a great turn out this year and would like to have a discussion on the future of reunions of Wappapello School.

Please tell all of your family, friends and school mates to come out and enjoy this event. The Puxico HomeComing is the same day as our 33rd Wappapello School Reunion. There will be a parade at the Homecoming that everyone is welcome to go to and have fun also.

I look forward to seeing you at the reunion this year.
