Ellsinore folks, get involved

Yes, I was very happy to see a letter from someone in Ellsinore. That doesn't happen very often. I'd like to add to it that we have nepotism in our school, our city government and now it's down at our nutrition center. I think more people needs to get involved with what's going on in their town. Thank you.

Who will benefit?

Dear Speakout,

When the Twin Rivers school district first organized in about 1969-70, we had about 1600-1700 students. There was a grade school at Fisk, a grade school at Qulin, and our 9-12 in the high school at Broseley. This set-up has served us for right at 40 years. We rebuild the high school, I was not totally sold on the idea that we had to, or needed it to be completely destroyed but it was.

Now, we have lost about 40 percent of the student body and all of a sudden we need to spend 3.5-4 million dollars to build a new middle school Why?

When you delete information and start using words like update, renovate, and specialize what are you talking about? When this happens it looks like a suspicious activity and I wonder who stands to benefit the most. To update a roof could be to pour a gallon of tar in the crack where the leak is, or put on a whole new roof, just tell us what you plan to do.

Mr. Ball said, "he didn't want his 7th grade daughter thrown in with the high school in a 6-6 plan." While at the same time I don't want my 5th grade girl thrown in the 8th graders in a 4-4-4 plan. I didn't know that Mr. Ball's girl even attended Twin Rivers.

At least five of the people who are advocates for the bond issue do not live or pay taxes in the Twin Rivers district. Again I ask, who benefits from this?

Just recall kids who have no bikes

To whoever stole our great-grandkid's bikes off their front porch while they were asleep, these were their first new bikes and they received them for Christmas. If you stole them to sell for drug money, may God forgive and heal you and your problem. If you stole them for your own children, then every time your children ride 'em just remember our children who now have no bikes to ride.
