Praise for book

To the Editor,

I am so pleased that there is going to be another "Butler County History Book" put out. To me that is such a good way to keep track of the people who have done so much to make Butler County a good place. So easy to look up families. Many of the old pictures, with the clothing that was worn then are just priceless.

When the other books were put out my husband Grady and I had just moved here to his farm. There was so much to do, was a wonder that I even found some pictures to put in the books.

I am putting pictures of Grady and his siblings in this book. They were all in the service. Have pictures of them in their uniforms. Grady's brother John R. "Dick" spent over three years in a Japanesse prison camp. Brother Ray spent 20 years in the Navy, and sister Bernice nursed all over France and their story needs to be told. Also I have found some very old pictures of my family that I want in the book.

If I can get some of my cousins to help I want to put pictures of my mother's siblings and their husbands in the book. Can you believe that six out of eight children did celebrate their golden wedding anniv.

They all started out with a horse and buggy. Lived on farms. Buried young children. Went through more than one flu epidemic. The depression and droughts, were more than a challenge!! But they survived and kept on.

There are a lot of Butler county families that are not in the books that have been published. I do hope they put their family history in this book.
