Vets could help

animal shelters

My concern is --I just seen the article in the DAR on animal rescue -- it seems the vets in these areas make enough off of everybody else that they could take and spend a little of their time and their money to help out shelters like the one in the paper today.

Figger reason

for the crime

I just noticed in the paper where all these clocks and DVD players and toilet paper and all was stolen in the paper. I guess that old boy needs a place to sit in the bathroom while he's taking a dump, you know, so he could watch that Mona Lisa picture with that DVD player and keep track of the time. That's why he stole that stuff. That's the only thing I can figger. He's gonna be one busy boy.

Let us vote on

rate increases

Yes. In Thursday's paper there was "Council Worse than Government." I just want to say that I agree with this individual who says our city council "just makes up their minds to raise our light, water and cable any time they want to and there's nothing we can do about." We should be allowed to vote on and I am in complete agreement with this individual. Thank you.

Iran could

re-elect Obama

So few people are watching what is happening currently with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. But, we see that in our fuel prices. But, in the political atmosphere, we can see a little further down the road that if Iran rattles their sabers a little harder we can almost guarantee that if they carry out a little bit more heinous action that this will almost guarantee that President Obama in any retaliatory action against Iran will guarantee he will be re-elected. Yes, that's right, people. Any retaliatory action against Iran in any fashion will put Obama back in office. That's right. Any action taken against any of our boats in the Persian Gulf. Anything to keep the Straight of Hormuz open. Any action taken against Iraq will therefore be seen as strength taken for Obama and we will rally around our president. A cheap shot? Maybe. But, you watch. The closer we get to the election. It's been done before, people. And, you just watch! Just watch. It's been done before. It can be done again.

Sucking the

system dry

Responding to "Sucking the System Dry," on Jan. 5, 2012. That Social Security System is a wonderful program if used the way intended. You can't just blame the lazy, low-life, you've got to blame the doctors who say they're disabled. But most of all, blame the lawyers, the blood-sucking lawyers, who fight for them. I know 10-20 and have called the Social Security office because half that number still work for people who will pay them cash.
