AMVETS ladies conduct meeting
AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary to Post 29 met Monday, Jan. 2, at the Post Home for dinner at 6 p.m. and the monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Chaplain Shirley Clark opened with prayer and recited the other opening ceremonies. Then, she announced she sent cards to members in honor of their birthdays and sent flowers to Ethel Johnson who has been hospitalized with a broken hip. Memorials were also given in honor of two deceased members: Joyce Reed and Fern Hill. One was sent to UCAN--United Cancer Assistance Network; the other, Animal Welfare Alliance of Southeast Missouri. Both of these organizations are local.
